Free wallpaper May: Pele, Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes

Your free wallpaper of May shows the famous Pele (short for Pelehonuamea, which means “she who shapes the sacred land”).

Pele is the powerful goddess of volcanoes and fires and resides in Kilauea, one of the volcanoes here on the Big island of Hawai’i.

One of the first things I’ve been told here was to never remove and take home a lava rock from the islands. Back then, my home was still in Europe and I took that advice to heart.

They say that lava is a sacred piece of the Pele, and bad luck will be brought to anyone who dares to remove it from her home. It’s also a reason why I don’t send out lavarocks as brushrests, although it’s so tempting 😉

The wallpaper is available in 3 sizes (one for your phone), and with or without dates. Click here to download from my dropbox.
